An electrical wedge connector comprising a shell (12), a wedge section (14) sized and shaped for being inserted into the shell (12), and at least one elongated bar element (16). The wedge section (14) is inserted into the shell (12) for connecting two electrical conductors (A, B) to each other. The wedge section (14) has at least one passageway formed therethrough. The elongated bar element (16) is located in said at least one passageway of the wedge section (14). The elongated bar element (16) has piercing protrusions (18) for effecting an electrical connection between each of the two conductors (A, B) and the elongated bar (16). The wedge section (14) includes at least one stop member for retaining the elongated bar element (16) to the wedge section (14) in at least one direction.
