<p>Pesticides for controlling Colorado beetle or caterpillar plagues contain 5-dimethylamino-1,2,3-trithiane of formula (I) or its acid-addn. salts. (I) is an ovicide, i.e., the pesticide can be applied at any time between egg laying and hatching. The pesticides can be formulated as dusts, solns., emulsifiable concentrates, etc., contg. 5-90wt.% (I) (opt. diluted to 0.1-20wt.% before use). The application rare is 0.5-2 (esp. ca 1)kg./ha. Crops suitable for treatment include potatoes, cotton, rice, vegetables and fruit trees.</p> |
