The knitted article consists of two single-surface right/left knits connected by loops or stitches according to a predetermined pattern and having cavities between the connection points. At least one texture yarn having latent crimping and consisting of synthetic material is inserted between these knits connected to one another. This texture yarn can be a filament yarn textured by false twisting and consisting of polyamide or polyester. As a result of heat treatment during the further processing of the knitted article, the volume of the inserted texture yarn can be increased in such a way that it can fill the cavities between the connection points. The knitted article is especially suitable for further processing to produce sports clothing.
