Type impression strength control - is used on powered typewriter and has control rail with stops for each key interacting with stop noses

The impression strength of type esp. on a powered typewriter with a summing type carrier can be adjusted using a control unit comprising selection devices (15, 27) for the various intervals of a proportional spacing mechanism (28) controlling the typewriter carriage (1). The selection system has a control rail (15) providing for each key stops (24, 25) which are selectively opposed to stop noses (26) of an associated intermediary element (23). The system is applicable to electromechanical typing mechanisms and also to those with predominantly electronic input and control.
