<p>A fire alarm system is based upon through flow ionisation chamber detectors. It is designed to provide an early warning by reacting to smoke particles. The ionisation chamber (30) detector operates in conjunction with a second chamber (40) that operates as a reference. In operation, a flow is passed from inlet (14) across the detector stage to outlet. Early warning is provided by a collector tube that allows particles smaller than 5 microns to be accepted and those larger to be blocked.</p> |
