The core (1) of a laminated plastic ski has a rigid top and bottom plate (2) between which a honeycomb structure is located. The honey-comb layer which acts as spacer between top and bottom plate, is bonded to the two rigid plates by epoxy resin adhesive. A thin layer of expanded thermoplastic (3) is located between each cover plate and the honeycomb spacer. The expanded plastic is saturated with the epoxy resin so that when the laminated core is clamped together, the adhesive is forced out of the expanded plastic to form a radiused seam (4) along the honeycomb cells.
