PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method, which can be comparatively easily executed without making personal information into database on the side of external equipment having a terminal (reader or reader/writer) for reading information on a card and a memory card for identity authentication to be used therefor in the authentication method capable of deciding whether a card user is an owner of the card by fetching the fingerprint information of the card user when using the card. SOLUTION: In the memory card for identity authentication for surely authenticating the identity of the card user on the side of external equipment having the terminal (reader or reader/writer) for reading the information on the card when using the card, this memory card is provided with a memory part for previously storing personal information, which contains the fingerprint information of the card owner, for authenticating the identity of the card owner and a fingerprint information fetching part for fetching the fingerprint information of the card user for confirming the user when using the card. |
