The diesel engine (1) has an air inlet (8) in which a compressor (9) for an exhaust driven supercharger is located. There is an exhaust gas connection (2) in which the exhaust turbine for the supercharger and a particle filter (3) are located. An exhaust gas return line (5) branches off after the filter and connects to the air inlet and an exhaust cooler (6). The particle filter is located in the direction of flow, before the exhaust turbine. USE/ADVANTAGE - Effective operation of diesel engine with minimal exhaust emissions.
