<p>1535645 Flat cable connector AMP Inc 27 Oct 1977 [22 Nov 1976] 44722/77 Heading H2E A connector housing 8 comprises a, first part 10 with open channels 28 to receive the wires 4 of a cable 6 laid into the recess 25, these channels diverging from one another towards the terminal end 16, and a second part 12 which is inserted via guides 29 into grooves 26 so that as it is pushed forward its leading edge 32 will press the wires 4 into the grooves. Holes 30, 40 are provided for the insertion of terminals to engage the wires. These terminals may be pins for connection to a p.c.b. or bifurcated socket terminals located in a further 2-part outer housing into which the connector housing 8 is fitted. The wires 40 may'be bare or insulated. The second portion 12 may be in the form of an integral, flexibly hinged strip.</p> |
