1535822 Flame-retarded compositions SHOWA DENKO KK 6 Feb 1976 [7 Feb 1975 5 March 1975] 04777/76 Heading C3K A flame-retardant composition comprises: (A) a ring-opened polymer of a norbornene compound containing a polar group, (B) a compound of the formula in which X is Cl or Br, X<SP>1</SP> is F, Cl, Br, alkyl or alkoxy, Y is =CX 2 , = SO 2 , or = CO, Z is a tetravalent cyclic hydrocarbon radical, m is an integer from 4-16, R is H, or at most one OH, or an alkyl or bromoalkyl radical, R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are each H or alkyl, n is an integer from 3 to 6, (l+n) is an integer from 2 to 10 and (l + n + p + r) = 10. The composition may also contain a metal salt of a fatty acid, an auxiliary fire retardant such as Sb 2 O 3 , a fatty acid or a hydroxy fatty acid, and a dihydrochlorination inhibitor. The polymer (A) may be modified by blending with one or more of a resin, rubber, or graft polymer. |
