1535668 Truss connector G SIMONE 3 May 1977 [17 May 1976] 18412/77 Heading F2M A connector for trussed structures comprises a central core 1 having a plurality of radial seats 10 having axes orthogonal to the axis of the core, a plurality of coupling elements 2 designed to be secured to the ends of the truss members 4 and to be inserted into the seats 10, locking means such as a bolt 3, the outward end of each coupling element being enlarged and having a plane face 7 inclined to the axis of the central core and a tang 5 connected, e.g. by a screw-threaded portion 6, to the face 7, the tangs being connected to the ends of the members 4 as by welding at 17. A closing plate, which may conform to the upper cross-section of the ends 8 of the coupling elements, is held by nuts 15. A hole 16 in this plate aligned with hole 12 in the core allows the connector to be coupled to an adjacent connector. |
