PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical telescope for wireless optical communication system provided with at least two aspherical mirrors. SOLUTION: A mirror configuration enables a primary and a secondary mirrors to be positioned closer together than conventional designs, and accordingly, enables a very compact system. The mirrors are thin and lightweight, which enables the realization of a lightweight telescope unit. The mirror configuration provides a larger focal plane, which enables automatic control between a transmitter and a receiver with a fixed mirror design, and further contributes to a lower fabrication cost. In addition, these mirrors can be designed so as to have larger diameters, which enables the transmission of high beam intensities at eye-safe levels since the energy is spread over a large area. |
