The belt consists of a base material reinforced with >=2 layers of woven fabric. The weft and warp of the first layer lie at right angles and parallel to the axis of the belt. The weft and warp of the second woven layer lie at an acute angle to that of the first layer and pref. at an angle of 45 degrees. Alternatively, the second layer may be in the form of a dow-weave by which the bisected angle between the wefts lies parallel to the warp of the first layer. The base material of the conveyor belt may be of PVC or polyurethane and the woven fabric may consists of polyester or cotton/polyamide threads.
