The front end assembly, comprising two side members (1) connected by an upper front cross-member (2) and a cooling module (3), has each projecting end (14) of the cooling module locked between the upper cross-member and a side member and held firmly in place when they are fixed together. In one variant of the design the cross-member and side member can be fixed together by a tenon and mortise joint, with the cooling module projection in the form of a plate with a hole that engages with the tenon. In other variants the components can be fixed together by bolts.
