1362418 Diffraction grating system R C A CORPORATION 22 Oct 1971 [23 Oct 1970] 49115/71 Headings G2J and G2X A recording blank, for photographically recording images modulated in the form of a diffraction grating, comprises a substrate on one surface of which is formed a diffraction grating (e.g. a blazed grating) and a photo-resist which fills the areas between the ridge lines of the grating and has a smooth exterior surface in the proximity of the tops of the grating lines, the substrate being a material not affected by exposure or development of the photo-resist. To form the modulated image the recording blank is exposed to an object, e.g. a transparency, either by a contact process or by a projection process. The photo-resist is then developed to form a relief pattern. This record may be duplicated. A reconstructed image may be directly viewed or projected when the developed record is illuminated with a beam of monochromatic light. |
