Multi-disc clutch has an end plate to take the pressing force of the discs mounted on an internal disc carrier (11) whose outer periphery has a groove (19) extending around it axially externally of the discs. A divided ring (18) inserted in the groove is partly or wholly covered by a recess (20) in the end disc (15) which provides radial support for the ring. The ring axially supports the end disc against the pressure of the clutch disc. On its side facing the clutch discs the end disc is axially secured by pins (21) disposed in radial bores (22) in the internal disc carrier. The bores extend from a central bore (23) in the carrier to its periphery and the pins project from the carrier to engage the end disc.
