Lubrication in glass moulding machines - with oxyalkylated polyamine derivs.

Lubrication of surfaces coming into contact with hot glass in glass-moulding machines (scoops, transfer conduits, moulds, etc.) is effected by introducing oxyalkylated polyamines of formula (I) (where R is a 12-22C aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon radical; x = 0-5; A is CH2CH2 or CH2CH2CH2; m n, p and q are integers such that their sum is >=3, one opt. being zero). Cpds. (I) do not produce smoke and do not leave carbon deposits. Cpds. (I) can be prepd. by condensing polyamines of formula (II) RNH- (CH2)3-NH x-(CH2)3-NH2 with the corresp. alkylene oxide. They can be used neat or in the form of aq. solns. or dispersions.
