The distributor comprises a support for a stack of gramophone records (5), allowing these to be indexed forward one at a time. Positive holders (8) are provided for all of the records except one, which is retained by gentle friction. A grip (20) engages with this record being typically a suction cup on the end of an oscillating lever (18). The holders can be rubber blocks fixed to jaws, while the gentle friction can be exerted by brushes (9) mounted on the jaws alongside the rubber blocks. Fixed brushes can also be provided, supplementing those on the jaws.
