<p>An array of parallel wires, rods or profiles having notches or openings cut into them at regular intervals is arranged so that a second array of parallel wires, rods or profiles can sit in the openings so as to form a network or grid of regular opening size. The geometric shapes of each of the overtures and of the wire rods, or profiles engaging the openings are chosen so that the contact between the elements occurs along lines such as edges or generatrices, the lines of contact giving rise to the same wt. of weld beads after passage of an electric current between the two arrays of elements. The elements of the grid or grille are welded together without pressing and with the minimum consumption of energy. No enlarged joint areas are produced as occurred without the cut opening.</p> |
