Poly(beta - methacryloyloxyethyl diethylammonium methyl sulphate) is prepared by polymerizing the amine monomer in methanolic solution with azobisisobutyronitrile followed by quaternizing with dimethyl sulphate. Other copolymers of quaternary ammonium monomers are described.
