<p>The machine inserts a series of coil springs in an oblong strip of material composed of two or more layers placed one on top of the other and capable of being welded together thermally. A mechanism indexes the strip along a track, alongside which are insertion devices for the compressed springs between the layers. A first welding head secures the layers together along one or more lengthwise seams, while a second one produces transverse seams so as to form an individual pocket for each of the springs to hold it in place. the insertion devices and welding heads operate alternately with the indexing drive, to load and form the pockets while the strip is temporarily stationary.</p> |
