The inking unit is used on a rotary printing machine and comprises a flexible blade (2) positioned at an angle to the inking roller (1). The upper edge of this blade is fixed to a support (4) which forms part of the machine frame and its lower edge is free and provides a gap between it and the roller. This gap is adjusted by screws (5) in a holder (6) underneath, the noses of these screws contacting the free end of the blade. The screw holder is separate from the support on the machine frame and is clamped by other screws (7) and holders are interchangeable.
