A unit (10) for bridging a seat frame side by side with other units (10) in a seat. The unit (10) comprises a support member (20) and an uphold member (40). When mounted in a seat, the support member (20) is distant to a seating surface (74), and the uphold member (40) is close to the seating surface (74), spring- biased away from the support member (20). A restrainer (80) which has a releasable clamp between the support and uphold members, holds the uphold member (40) at an adjustable distance from the support member (20). The invention also relates to a conformable seat uphold arrangement that has a plurality of support units (10), and to a seat provided with such arrangement.
