A method for providing the service from the IMS network to the CS (Circuit Switch) network comprises: the call control function entity of the CS network implements the service trigger detection, and transmits the service request message to the service edge proxy after triggering successfully; the service edge proxy maps the service request message of the CS network to the service request message of the IMS network, and forwards the service request message after mapped to the IMS application server so that the IMS application server implement the service logic control; according to the service control message, the service edge proxy controls the subsequent service flow of the call control function entity of the CS network. The present invention also provides a system for providing the service from the IMS network to the CS network. According to the present invention, the users of the CS network can use the supplementary service provided by the end office and the intelligent service provided by the intelligent network, and also can use the other services provided by the IMS application server.
