The heating element (16) consists of a metal plate (17) with grooves into which tubular heating members are pressed. The inside surfaces of the grooves have serrations. The heating members are pushed into the grooves until these serrations are flattened. The serrations may be triangular or curved or four-sided and may run parallel to or across the grooves. The base of the plate may be flat and the sides of the U-shaped grooves. The advantage lies in providing a thermal connection between the heating member and plate without the use of solder.
