The machine performs a succession of bending operations on a concrete reinforcing mat comprising a series of bars at right angles to each other, having a frame with a holder, and a bending mechanism travelling over the frame. The mechanism has a supporting beam on which a bending beam hinges having bending hooks engaging with the mat. The bending beam is mounted on an arm pivoting on the axis through the hooks. The arm is moved by a driving rod on a second arm pivoting on the same axis and which is driven by a second rod independent of the first, coupled to the supporting beam. The rods can be plungers of a hydraulic ram.
