摘要 <p>Prepn. of 3-20C aliphatic alcohols (I) consists of the treatment of CO, H2 and C2H2 in a liq. solvent with a catalyst at 170-220 degrees/20-200 atmos. Solvent is a fraction of satd. 10-18C aliphatic alcohols and/or 12-20C paraffin hydrocarbons. Catalyst contains 92-95% Wt. Fe3O4, 0.5-2 wt.% K2O or Na2O (alkaline promoter); and 3-7.5 wt.% V2O5, Al2O3, and SiO2 (as structural promoter). Process allows increased C2H2 concns. to be used, thus increasing the reaction rate and process space-time yield. A constant temp. may be maintained over the catalyst bed, and the accumulation of high m.pt. prods. on the catalyst is avoided. The thermal stability of the process is greater, and the catalyst has a longer life.</p>
