A recording card holder (1) for pressure recording appt. has a flat supporting surface (2) to receive the card. The surface is essentially rectangular and has two adjacent upsanding edges (3, 4) to act as stops to locate the recording cards. The card holder has a guide ramp (5) for the recording stylus. Attached to the holder in the vicinity of one edge stop (4) is a retaining arm (6). This arm is elastic and can be bent away from the support surface (2). Between the arm and the support surface is a gap which is deeper than the thickness of the recording card. The arm has a wedge-shaped projection (8) with a gently sloping guide surface (9) and a steeply sloping retaining surface (10) which engages a hole (21) in an inserted card (20). A further arm engages a second hole in the card in a similar manner.
