Yarn feed supply mechanism for a textile machine, such as a circular knitter, uses a drum cage formed by a number of rods, for reserve coils of yarn to be wound round as they pass through, the rods being attached at one end only to one part of the drum in an alternating pattern. The free ends of the rods lie in openings in both sections of the drum, giving them free play. The two sections are mounted on a common ball bearing assembly attached to a holder. The initial, powered section is in the form of a belt drive disc carrying its rods and fitted with holding openings for the ends of the rods of the other section. Yarn store and feed drum ensures a smooth and unhindered passage for the yarn through to the textile machine.
|
