The cladding wall has a number of ceramic plates set alongside each other and secured by holders to a support. The holders are situated on the rear of the plates and extend through the support. The extending portion is a boss (4) formed on the plate (2). The boss fits into a bore in the support and a locking device (6) is clamped onto its free end extending through the support. On the back of the plate are raised portions (3) equal height with flat end faces. The boss is situated on these raised portions. The support has protruding spring portions (9) bearing against the back of the plate.
