The rubber plant called FICUS ELASTICA ROXB. VAR. DECORA TRICOLOR HORT. is distinct from the FICUS ELASTICA ROXB VAR. DECORA TRICOLOR HORT which has mottled leaves, because its leaves are smaller. The main part of the leaf is egg-shaped; of thick and rough texture, with a dark-green surface which appears in a narrow strip along the edge of the blade of the leaf. Inside the blade of the leaf is a bright yellow surface. The edge of the leaf blade is wavy. The length between nodes is very short. The speed of growth is slower. The plant is propagated by means of layering, since grafting is difficult.
