The device locks a divided piston ring so that it cannot turn in its groove, having a pin in the groove engaging in a recess in the ring. Two pins (4a, 4b) are mounted in the groove, each engaging in a recess (5a, 5b) in the ring (2), the latter recesses being situated on opposite sides of the ring gap and near the butt ends. The pins can be in the form of dowels, while the recesses in the ring are rectangular grooves, or alternatively screws can be used, fitting in tapped holes in the piston. The recesses for them in the ring are undercut to take the screw heads. There are radial drillings in the rings above the recesses for screwdriver blades.
