The units are formed by a serpentine tube, the straight sections of which run parallel to each other in the same plane. The plates of steel, aluminium or brass (depending upon application) are profiled to suit the tubes which need not be circular, and are clipped on to the serpentines. The units are connected to each other in series or in parallel. The secondary heat conveying fluid does not have to be force fed in the plate heat exchanger. Construction is therefore simplified since risk of leakage is reduced considerably, and the assembly can be used in a tank.
