摘要 <p>1533618 Seaming non-metallic sheet material BIELOMATIK LEUZE & CO 5 March 1976 [8 March 1975] 08824/76 Heading B5K Apparatus for welding a cover 23 to a container 24 comprises a device 16 for pressing the cover 23 on to the container 24 to effect welding after heating of the parts to be welded and a pressure connector 33 connectible to at least an opening 29 in the cover 23 and leading to pressure responsive means for testing the container for leaks under pressure. In the embodiment shown, the container and the cover form an electrical battery, e.g. a lead accumulator, casing and each comprise transverse walls 28 separating individual cells. For each cell, the cover 23 has a filling opening 29 and an opening 30 for an electrical terminal pin. An edge 22 on the cover 23 extends lower than a side wall portion 27 to be welded at 26 to the container 24. The device 16 has a pressure shoulder 18 surrounded by a guide spigot 19 and has pivoted thereto levers 20 with fingers 21 to engage under the edge 22. The levers 20 are displaceable by bars 25 actuated by a fluid cylinder (not shown). The device 16 is movable vertically by a pneumatic cylinder 32. The connector 33 has a carrier 34 displaceable vertically on guides 35 by a fluid cylinder 36. Connection heads 37, one for each opening 29, are guided in the carrier 34 and are urged downwardly by springs 38 so that seals 39 thereon seal the openings 29. Flexible tubes 41 connect passages 40 in the heads 37 to a testing device 42 having meters 43 and a pressure medium feed pipe 44. The openings 30 are closed by seals 47 on members 45 urged downwardly by springs 46. In operation, a container 24 is fed on a roller table 13 to the welding position and a cover 23 is gripped between the shoulder 18 and the fingers 21 with the connector 33 held raised. The device 16 is raised and a welding tool 48 moved between the cover and container to plasticize the edges to be welded by contact or radiation heating. The tool 48 is retracted and the device 16 is lowered so that the shoulder 18 presses the cover on to the container to effect welding. After welding, the connector 33 is lowered so that the seals 39, 47 seal the interior of the container to which pressurized fluid is then supplied. After this supply is switched off, the meters 43 monitor the pressure in each cell to ascertain whether there is any inadmissible drop in fluid pressure. In modifications (not shown), (a) the connector (33) is not independently movable by the cylinder (36); (b) the heads (37) and members (45) are actuated independently of one another; (c) plug-shape seals are used instead of annular seals (39); and (d) the device (16) is guided on the connector (33) so that the pressure is relieved after welding before the pressurizing operation.</p>
