1534158 Cleaning dust filters ATLAS COPCO AB 31 Oct 1975 [8 Nov 1974] 45501/75 Heading BIT A method of cleaning a dust filter unit of the kind that comprises a plurality of flexible filter bags that are open to the clean air side and mounted on cages that prevent the bags collapsing, comprises terminating the inlet flow of dirty gas and then cleaning all the bags simultaneously by injecting repetitively pulsed air jets into the bags, the jet axes being parallel to the side walls of the bags and the jets being directed towards the bottom of the bags so that a part of the length of the jets does not touch the bags. The bags may be relatively thin (length more than 10 times their width), flat bags. The air jets may issue from expansion nozzles, e.g. Laval-type nozzles connected to a self-oscillating membrane pulse valve or an electrically-controlled pulse valve. The method may be applied to the filtration of dust-laden air from a rock drilling bore hole using polyester textile filter bags.
|
