1533752 Seat belt buckle TAKATA KOJYO CO Ltd 19 Aug 1976 [19 Aug 1957] 34540/76 Heading E2A A seat belt buckle comprises a body consisting of a frame 2, push plate 5 and cover 6: a latch plate 3 and a multi-function spring member 4. To couple a tongue plate 1 to the buckle the tongue is inserted into the aperture 13 in the frame 2 whereby the lower portion of the latch plate 3 is pressed by the spring portions 20, 20' and the shoulder 35 of the tongue is engaged by the tongue engaging part 15 of the latch plate 3, the face of the springs is then released and the tongue is fastened. If the tongue is incompletely inserted it will be repelled by the spring ejecting portion 23. To disengage the tongue the pushing part 29 of the push plate 5 is pushed to press the pressure receiving parts 16, 16' of the latch plate 3 downward, the lower portion of the latch plate being moved against the spring with the curved section 17 of the latch plate acting as a fulcrum so releasing the tongue from the latch plate. |
