1533847 Dyeing natural polyamides L B HOLLIDAY & CO Ltd 2 Dec 1975 [2 Dec 1974] 52094/74 Heading D1B Natural and mixed natural and synthetic polyamide fibre yarns and fabrics are dyed by (i) pretreating with an amphoteric auxiliary as defined, in a bath brought to the dyeing temperature within a period of 10 to 30 mins., and maintained at that temperature for a further 10 to 30 mins, (ii) adding at least one reactive dye to the dyebath, (iii) completion of the dyeing. The pretreatment may be at pH 4 to 7 with weakly anionic amphoteric auxiliary, the dyeing being at 70‹ to 100‹C using azo or anthraquinone reactive dyes. Preferably the substrate is a machine washable wool which has been chlorinated and resin-treated.
