The container for receiving and storing content under pressure comprises a side wall made of relatively thin sheet material. The bottom wall is adapted to flex outwardly under pressure of the contents. The base includes a support for supporting the container in a vertical upright position under pressure of the container contents. The support comprises a generally polygonally shaped indented wall area centrally located in the bottom wall and defined by at least three elongated linear outer edge surfaces located axially outwardly of all other outer bottom wall surfaces. Cantilever-like supports between the side wall and the edge surfaces locate and support the edge surfaces axially outwardly of all other surfaces of the bottom wall.
