The coupling is for releasably securing members of a rod or tube frame to a support. It comprises a bayonet-type coupling consisting of a bush element (1) and a securable pin element (2). The bush has a spherical segment (3) with a slotted opening (4) whilst the pin has cam faces. The coupling is secured by inserting the pin end in the opening and rotating it therein, the opening being shaped such as to permit the rod to be pivoted relative to the bush. The cam faces may be shaped to permit accepting a tensile load on the rod and there may be second cam faces permitting compression loading.
