PURPOSE:To cool effectively rotary machines and prevent propagation of vibration of the machines by providing a means to cool the wall section of a chamber and at the same time providing a means to connect elastically and thermally the inner surface of the wall section and the case of an vertical rotary machine. CONSTITUTION:A heat conductive plate 22 that is formed with an excellent heat conductive material is placed in a low pressures chamber 15 and the plate 22 is fixed on the inner periphery of the side wall member 13 thermally and mechanically. Holes 24 in which the cases 23 of rotary machines 12a-12c can fit in with some margin are provided in the heat conductive plate 22. One side of the peripheral section of each hole 24 is fixed and tightened on the heat conductive plate 22, and on the other side a heat conductor 26 is provided which contacts the upper end of the case 23 by its own elastic force. On the other hand at the outer periphery of the installation base 11 and the position on the outer face of the side wall member 13 that corresponds to the position where the heat conductive plate 22 is fixed cooling pipes 27 and 28 are provided with tight contact.
