<p>The hydraulic circuit with safety valve is designed to support the load in a controlled manner if the piping to the power cylinder fails. The load line (19) from the pump (10) through a four-way valve (11) is connected to the power cylinder (16) acting on the load (18). The power cylinder has a safety valve (14) which can be fitted on the power cylinder itself. In the connecting line between the pump and the safety valve (14) are sensors (12, 13) in series. During normal operation both sensors carry the full flow necessary to move the piston in the power cylinder (16). If the load line breaks at any point, the flows carried by the two sensors differ, resulting in disturbed equalibrum in the safety valve. This shuts off the power cylinder fluid connection, so that fluid once inside the cylinder cannot escape.</p> |
