The basket is made of wire bars joined together where they cross, and secured at the top inside an enclosing frame, the latter having two U-shaped wire handles on opposite sides attached to eyes. It nests together with others for stacking. At the handle sides the lateral wire bars (7) protrude past the frame (1), the protruding ends being joined by a guide bar (5) whose length is roughly equal to the basket width. The two short shanks (3) of the handle (2) are bent so as to pass round the guide bar ends, and to allow raising and lowering of the handle its eyes (4) are oblong. When tilted inwards, the bent portions of the handle shanks can rest on the frame.
