Cylindrical electrode construction for multipoint sockets - provides good electrical contact with low insertion force using single sheet of metal with V=section tail piece

An electrode is esp. designed for use in multi-point sockets, the individual electrodes having good contact characteristics with low insertion pressure from the male element. The electrode is formed from a single piece of strip metal which is cut and wrapped to form a short cylinder(2) with a 'V' cross - sectioned tail(1) for connection of fixed wiring. The cylindrical section fits securely around its mating plug pin due to the sprung nature of the metal, three short longitudinal slots(5) and a further slot(6) at right angles to the electrode axis and bisected by the mating edges(4) of the wrapped strip.
