Cellulose fibre-contg. paper-stock treatment - by subdividing into fractions of different fibre lengths and treating at least one fraction with ozone

Cellulose fibre-contg. paper stock is treated by classifying the stock w.r.t. its fibre length into >=2 fractions and treating >=1 of these fractions with ozone. Starting material which has been passed through a disintegrator is fed into a classifier which feeds the finer fraction to an ozone treatment chamber and the coarser fraction to a dehydrating device the water from which may be supplied to the ozone treatment chamber to modify the concn. of the fraction subjected to treatment with NaOH dispersing agent. Treatment agents are used up optimally.
