<p>The scanning system is for use in printing from a transparent subject such as a film and for general analysis where a consistant contrast is required. Scanning is by a light beam directed from an oscillating mirror providing a contrast gain of about one hundred. The oscillating mirror creates both the horizontal and vertical displacement required to scan the subject line by line and typically has a frequency of 20Hz and has an iodine vapour tungsten cathode source lamp. The amplitude of the mirror oscillations is about 10 deg., the same surface of the mirror being used for reflecting the light transmitted from the subject through an associated lens system to the receiving sensitive surface.</p> |
