The invention relates to an adjustable stand for an observing instrument, preferably a surgical microscope. The observing instrument can be freely adjusted and locked in any setting in a predetermined region of space by means of a combination of rods and joints, there being six degrees of rotational freedom available. In addition, a single weight-balancing device compensates the gravity torques acting in relation to each of the degrees of freedom and their corresponding rotational axes. At each of the six bearings, which are assigned a degree of freedom each, the respectively cooperating bearing parts are connected by means of two couplings connected in series, of which one (51) is a slip coupling having an adjustable friction torque, and the other (52) is an elastic coupling. The elastic coupling is preferably provided with means for damping vibration, in particular with at least one element (53) made from elastomeric material. The invention is preferably applied in ENT surgery, and more generally in microsurgery. <IMAGE> |
