<p>The universal mounting comprises a base for attaching additional instruments, e.g. a clock to the upper part of a vehicle dashboard (2). The base is formed from a right prism having two parallel surfaces, all other faces being inclined at different angles (6)(8). The mounting block is placed on the dashboard and supports the instrument. The block is manipulated until the optimum angle is found to give the best possible viewing angle for the instrument. The block is then attached to the instrument and the dashboard by an adhesive. The block may carry adhesive pads on fall faces. The chosen faces are prepared by removal of protective foil or film. If the block is constructed from plastic material which provides a certain degree of deformability, by manual pressure on the block this can provide 5 to 15% fine adjustment of the position.</p> |
