<p>A hand operated device for the insertion of glass plates and other smooth surfaced plates, principally in vertically arranged frames, involves a rubber disc (1), inside which is a metal plate (2), and which has an upwardly directed crown (3) in which a cap (4, 4a) of metal or synthetic material is firmly held. Through the cap (4), a shaft (9) with a right-angled bent central part (10) is guided, the bent part (10) being located in the lengthwise slot (7) of a fillet (6) fixed to the metal plate (2). When the shaft (9) is swivelled, and likewise the bent part (10), the metal plate (2) along with the rubber disc (1) are lifted in the area of the plate (2), forming a hollow space which, through its vacuum, retains the disc or plate (14). The edge (1a) of the rubber disc (1) sits firmly on the disc (14) and seals the hollow space.</p> |
