An appts. for the concn. and crystallisation of sugary solns. for use in the food and chemical industry with a heat exchanger in its lower part has in its upper part a device to preent incrustations on the inner walls. This device is an apron of inverted U-shape which is permeable for liq. media. A gap which separates it from the inner walls is connected to a source of the liq. media. The complete elimination of incrustations results in a guaranteed continuous operation of the appts. without downtimes. The device itself is very simple.
