The fixing assembly, for removably attaching an ignition distributor's cap to the distributor's bod, consists of a ring clip (20) drawn tight around the rim of the cap by a screw. The clip has a v-shaped cross section and sits over the slopping projecting rim of the cap (16) and a sloping projection around the top of the distributor's body. The sides of the V act on the two sloping faces and draw the cap down onto the body.
